The 'Stick Gun' / William Mansel Dillwyn Llewelyn (1838 - 1866) sits in a relaxed pose in the Conservatory with a gun across his lap, a powder-horn at his feet. In his book, Penllergare: a Victorian Paradise, author Richard Morris describes the Conservatory as having "...heated pipes running underneath the pierced wrought iron floor that ran along the middle of the paths."
